Position Overview:

The Technical Specialist is responsible for performing application and performance evaluation of chemical additives related to the paper industry while maintaining accurate records of experiments, writing reports, and communicating results to customers, sales department, and technical team members.

Responsibilities:

    • Work in a safe manner within a laboratory environment.
    • Conduct customer service lab projects that involve wet-end, surface, and coating chemicals withing the pulp and paper industry.
    • Maintain timely and accurate records of experiments, formulate reports, and communicate results and insights.
    • Compare Archroma products to competitive products.
    • Prepare customer promotion packages that demonstrate Archroma's benefits.
    • Occasionally, travel to customer sites to run trials and on-site laboratory evaluations.
    • Dialogue with chemical and equipment suppliers.

Qualifications:

    • B.S. degree in Paper Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
    • 1-5 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
    • Experience in designing and executing application experiments and analyzing data.
    • Familiarity with the pulp and papermaking process and proficiency in using lab equipment related to the paper industry.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
