BUT DID YOU KNOW:
- Iron contamination during the early stages of fabric manufacture can lead to fabric damage during subsequent bleaching
- Weaving requires a sizing agent to protect the yarn, which needs to be removed before your can bleach or color the fabric
- The desizing and demineralization processes require separate steps, as most sizing agents are removed with an enzyme which doesn’t work under the iron demineralization conditions
- The demineralization agents often are phosphorous based leading to issues in the wastewater treatment
